Happy Valentine’s Day!

Published by slcolman at 6:24 pm under Life in General Edit This

Happy Valentine’s Day to all of my blogging friends!!

I hope that everyone had a fun and love filled day Kiss

DH and I kept it pretty low key.  I overdid it a bit yesterday and ended up sleeping in until almost noon!  The pain today is more than it has been lately so we have spent the majority of the day just watching TV.  DH gave me my gifts and they were an eclectic mix of really fun things mostly from the dollar store but some from other places too.  The gift package included things like a new stuffed dog to use as a pillow, 2 frog “I Love You” helium balloons,  a bottle of dehydrated chopped onions, a jar of chopped garlic, a small package of slim jim’s, 2 exercise DVDs, 2 small pocket cookbooks, a pen that has bubbles and a stamp all together, a silk bouquet of red roses, and a huge musical card.  Isn’t it amazing what you can get at the dollar store!  Most of the stuff is really cute and fun and didn’t cost much either.  Really it is the thought and the love put into the gift that matters so much more than the cost or the gift in most cases.

When DH and I first started dating I lived in Florida and he lived in Wyoming, for that first Valentine’s Day he sent flowers to my home via one of those sites like 1-800-flowers or whatever.  The flowers finally got there at about 8 pm and while the vase and balloons were nice the flowers were not.  He was so upset when I sent him the photo of them because really he didn’t get his moneys worth, as all that was in the vase was a few less than fresh carnations.  I also remember that I had sent him a new wallet which I might mention that he still has and uses daily for that Valentine’s Day and somehow it was delayed in the mail only to be received about a week after the holiday.  Well, DHs brother sent his wife flowers via the same kind of method for this Valentine’s Day and she received a fairly nice vase and some white, pink, and brown roses.  Needless to say that BIL called them back and got a refund.  Guess us Colman’s do not have good luck with getting flowers in this manner!  LOL  Moral of the story send leather it might not get there on time but at least it lasts!
