A Little Better Day

Published by slcolman at 10:36 pm under Health Issues, Life in General, Rants & Raves Edit This

Although still in pain, today was a little better day.  It is kind of scary to me that I am learning to live with this pain already, but it is probably a good thing.  I was able to go in to town and spend some time with DH after he got off of work and then we went to a Valentine’s dinner put on by the in-laws church.  The dinner was the in-laws gift to us for Valentine’s Day and my MIL went to great lengths in setting it up to ensure that I would be able to eat even with my dairy issues.  The dinner was held at one of the local restaurants with a pretty much set menu and babysitting services provided at the church.  It was fun and we got to meet some people from their church.  We sat with a super sweet young married couple who are expecting their second child and got to know them - It really was a pleasure to share an evening in their company.

While at Wal-Mart picking up more cranberry juice for me, DH also picked up a card and stuffed animal for me for Valentine’s Day then he picked up some more things including 2 frog balloons at the dollar store.  I hope that tomorrow is as good of a day as today was overall.  We have been invited to go back into town for a potluck and movie at some friends of ours church.  They will be showing “Fireproof” which DH and I have both commented that we would love to see.  The food would be a bigger issue tomorrow though, and I really don’t know what I would make to take to a potluck since I didn’t do any grocery shopping today.  So, we shall see how I feel in the morning.

I do want to say one thing in response to the comment “Joe” left on my last post.  Sir, you may indeed be a doctor, but you know nothing of my case nor have you looked at the CT scan that shows a cyst in one of my kidneys and degeneration in my hip and lower back.  The reason that they want to see the previous scans before drawing conclusions is that they want to see the progression if possible considering that my last scan was only in December.  While I appreciate that you have psychological issues, I feel that for you to diagnose me with those as well via a blog is not only irresponsible but unreliable.  For the record I do see a psychiatrist who diagnosed the PMDD but none of the treatment plans we have tried have helped enough to offset the side effects of the medications.  Thanks for playing and please in the future refrain from remote diagnosis on anyone who has not asked for your assistance.

It sounds like you have some very thoughtful in-laws. I hope you continue to feel better!
