Do You Hear What I Hear?

Published by slcolman at 12:50 pm under Everything Else Edit This

Mostly what I hear is the Wyoming wind rushing, gusting, and blowing; but if I listen closer to the wind I hear it whispering change.  I wasn’t going to blog at all about politics and such, but then my heart softened and I decided that it is indeed too momentous of an occasion in our fine country to just sit idly by.  Today was a history making day whether you voted for or against our new President.  So, on the wind I hear the whisper of change since that is his whole platform.  I hope that the change is good and benefits the citizens of not just our United States but the citizens of the whole peace keeping world.  I hope that the peace is kept and that more peace is to come too - that would be a nice change!

I do hope that Obama’s Presidency goes better than his inauguration though!!  First they were over 5 minutes behind schedule in giving Obama the oath of office, leaving the Vice President as President once Bush officially stepped down at exactly noon.  Then once Obama began to take the oath he couldn’t seem to get the words out correctly.  Also, I still find it strange that the oath which the Vice President takes is so much deeper and lengthy than the one the President does.  I hope that they do a good job of upholding their oaths and accomplish much during their terms.

It was actually the Supreme Court Justice who messed up on President Obama’s oath, not President Obama.

I think that his dreams for our country can become reality, if we as a people can pull together and work towards that end. He can’t do it by himself - he needs us, every one of us, to make an effort.
